Unlabelled: Mandibular reconstruction is essential for restoring both function and aesthetics after segmental resection due to tumoral pathology. This study aimed to conduct a comparative analysis of three reconstruction strategies for defects resulting from segmental mandibular resection, utilizing finite element analysis (FEA).

Methods: A digital model of the mandible was created from CBCT data and optimized for FEA.

Evaluation of keratinized tissue augmentation using amnion/chorion allograft vs. autogenous connective tissue in implant therapy: a retrospective study.

Clin Oral Investig

January 2025

Department of Surgical Sciences and Integrated Diagnostics, Unit of Implant and Prosthetic Dentistry, University of Genoa, Largo R. Benzi 10 , 16121 , Genova, Italy.

Objectives: Successful implant therapy must also ensure the integration of the soft tissues around the crown/abutment emergence profile. The existing literature does not consistently agree on the necessity of a minimal amount of keratinized tissue (KT), though it appears advantageous for the long-term stability and aesthetics of implants. The purpose of this clinical retrospective study is to compare the effectiveness of amnion/chorion membrane and autogenous subepithelial connective tissue in increasing the keratinized mucosa and maintaining it over a 5-year follow-up.

How to Deal with Pulpitis: An Overview of New Approaches.

Dent J (Basel)

January 2025

Department of Conservative Dentistry with Endodontics, Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze, Medical University of Silesia, 41-902 Bytom, Poland.

Traditional root canal therapy (RCT) effectively removes diseased or necrotic pulp tissue and replaces it with inorganic materials. Regenerative endodontics is an alternative to conventional RCT by using biologically based approaches to restore the pulp-dentin complex. This review explores emerging techniques, including autogenic and allogenic pulp transplantation, platelet-rich fibrin, human amniotic membrane scaffolds, specialized pro-resolving mediators, nanofibrous and bioceramic scaffolds, injectable hydrogels, dentin matrix proteins, and cell-homing strategies.

Objective: The primary objective of this study is to develop and validate a high-risk model for Arteriovenous Fistula Thrombosis (AVFT) in patients undergoing autogenous arteriovenous fistula surgery for hemodialysis.

Methods: Retrospectively, we collected general information, clinical characteristics, laboratory examinations, and dialysis-related factors from a cohort of 1465 patients who received continuous arteriovenous fistula surgery at the Hemodialysis Access Center of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital between January 2019 and June 2022. The patients were randomly divided into a training set and a validation set in a 2:1 ratio.

Objectives Of The Study: (1) To evaluate the effect of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) with bone marrow aspirate on regenerative capacity in patients undergoing iliac bone grafting for secondary alveolar bone grafting. (2) and to compare it with group 2 where only bone marrow aspirate was used along with iliac bone graft in secondary alveolar bone grafting.

Materials And Methods: A prospective study on patients with cleft alveolus, requiring bone grafting and reporting to our unit from October 2018 to October 2020 was included in this study.
