Specific effects of ultra-low doses of antibodies to prostate-specific antigen obtained from laboratory rats of late reproductive age with sulpiride model of benign prostatic hyperplasia were compared with the results of clinical application of the preparation. Clinical reproducibility of experimental data was proven, which suggests that the developed model is adequate for pilot testing of the effects of pharmacotherapy of this disease.

Oral absorption is limited for many small-molecule drugs due to their poor aqueous solubility as well as, for some, poor membrane permeation. One such is levosulpiride (LSP), used to treat psychotic and other conditions. The present study aims to explore the effect of nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) for the delivery of LSP.

1-(2-(4-(4-ethylphenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)phenyl)ethanone (ETAP) is a novel hybrid compound containing 1,2,3-triazole and acetophenone. It exhibits antidepressant-like effects in male mice, linked to modulation of serotonergic receptors and monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) inhibition. This study aimed to evaluate the involvement of the dopaminergic and noradrenergic systems, as well as MAO-B activity inhibition, in the antidepressant-like effect of ETAP in male mice, and to evaluate the antidepressant-like effect of ETAP in female mice.

Infertility in hyperprolactinemic females is attributed to the dysregulation of GnRH release, subsequently affecting gonadotropin levels, and ultimately leading to anovulation. However, in addition to the hypothalamus, prolactin receptor (PRLR) is expressed in ovaries as well, suggesting potential local effects of PRL in cases of hyperprolactinemia. We have developed an experimental model of sulpiride (SPD)-induced hyperprolactinemia using a wild rodent, the plains vizcacha, and studied the implications of pharmacological PRL levels on folliculogenesis and steroid production.

Background: An impaired intestinal barrier with the activation of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF), Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), and proinflammatory cytokine signaling, resulting in visceral hypersensitivity, is a crucial aspect of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The gut exhibits abundant expression of neurotensin; however, its role in the pathophysiology of IBS remains uncertain. This study aimed to clarify the effects of PD149163, a specific agonist for neurotensin receptor 1 (NTR1), on visceral sensation and gut barrier in rat IBS models.
