An adult, male double yellow-headed Amazon parrot (Amazona ochrocephala oratrix) was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia based on results of a complete blood cell count and cytologic examination of a bone marrow aspirate. Treatment with oral chlorambucil was attempted, but no response was evident after 40 days. The bird was euthanatized, and the diagnosis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia was confirmed on gross and microscopic examination of tissues. Neoplastic lymphocytes were found in the bone marrow, liver, kidney, testes, and blood vessels. Based on CD3-positive immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical immunophenotyping, the chronic lymphocytic leukemia was determined to be of T-cell origin.

Background: Live viral vector-based vaccines are known to elicit strong immune responses, but their use can be limited by anti-vector immunity. Here, we analyzed the immunological responses of a live-attenuated recombinant Pichinde virus (PICV) vector platform (rP18tri).
Methods: To evaluate anti-PICV immunity in the development of vaccine antigen-specific immune responses, we generated a rP18tri-based vaccine expressing the lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) nucleoprotein (NP) and administered four doses of this rP18tri-NPLCMV vaccine to mice.

Syphilis, caused by the highly invasive pathogen , remains one of the oldest and most significant public health challenges. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of new syphilis cases among adults aged 15-49 years in 2022 was estimated at approximately 8 million, with notable increases observed in Europe, the Americas, and Africa. The cellular immune response plays a critical role in combating this infection, and its insufficient activity may contribute to chronic progression of the disease.

(1) Background: The implication of type 2 (T2) inflammatory response in COVID-19 remains controversial. This study aimed to evaluate the association of eosinophils, neutrophils expressing eosinophilic surface markers and T2 cytokines with the severity and outcome of COVID-19. (2) Methods: Patients who were admitted to hospital due to COVID-19 from 18 December 2022 to 31 January 2023 were enrolled.

Besides various infectious and inflammatory complications, recent studies also indicated the significance of NLRP3 inflammasome in cancer progression and therapy. NLRP3-mediated immune response and pyroptosis could be helpful or harmful in the progression of cancer, and also depend on the nature of the tumor microenvironment. The activation of NLRP3 inflammasome could increase immune surveillance and the efficacy of immunotherapy.

CX3CR1-transduced regulatory T cells (Tregs) have shown potential in reducing neuroinflammation by targeting microglial activation. Reactive microglia are implicated in neurological disorders, and CX3CR1-CX3CL1 signaling modulates microglial activity. The ability of CX3CR1-transduced Tregs to inhibit LPS-induced neuroinflammation was assessed in animal models.
