Introduction: Heart failure (HF) has a very high prevalence in patients with maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). However, there is still a lack of effective and reliable HF diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets for patients with MHD.

Methods: In this study, we analyzed transcriptome profiles of 30 patients with MHD by high-throughput sequencing.

Objective: To assess patient's self-reported global assessment of health (PGA) in relation to inflammation, pain and disability in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Methods: Data were obtained from the Better Anti-Rheumatic PharmacOTherapy early RA cohort, in which patients were scheduled for follow-up of 15 years. Longitudinal PGA trajectories were identified using hierarchical agglomerative clustering procedure with Wards methods, based on PGA assessments during the first 2 years.

The constant exposure of the skin to internal and external stimuli drives towards skin aging and lost in skin hydration and elasticity. Chronic low-grade inflammation, called inflammaging, and oxidative stress are the leading causes of this phenomenon. Fatty acid coacervation is a preparation method for Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLNs), which does not employ solvents, and is associated to low energy consumption.

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the clinical diagnostic value of matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) for tuberculosis and drug-resistant tuberculosis.

Patients And Methods: Totally 201 pulmonary tuberculosis patients were recruited retrospectively. All patients underwent smear microscopy, Mycobacterium growth indicator tube (MGIT) 960 culture, loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) molecular testing, Xpert MTB/RIF (Xpert), and MassARRAY assay which is a MALDI-TOF MS based method.

Feasibility of detecting non-small cell lung cancer using exhaled breath condensate metabolomics.

School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ocean University of China, 5 Yushan Rd, Qingdao, Shandong, 266003, CHINA.

Lung cancer is one of the most common malignancy in the world, and early detection of lung cancer remains a challenge. The exhaled breath condensate (EBC) from lung and trachea can be collected totally noninvasively. In this study, our aim is to identify differential metabolites between non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and control EBC samples and discriminate NSCLC group from control group by orthogonal projections to latent structures-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) models.
