Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is an aggressive B-cell neoplasm with few patients achieving long-term survival with current treatment regimens. High-dose therapy is effective in reducing the tumor burden; however, patients eventually relapse due to minimal residual disease. Having demonstrated efficacy in other malignancies, the effectiveness of dendritic cell-based immunotherapy for minimal residual MCL was examined. We demonstrated that dendritic cells (DC) primed with MCL antigens stimulated the activation of MCL-specific T cells that recognized and destroyed both MCL cell lines and primary MCL in vitro. In addition, in vivo studies demonstrated that adoptively transferred MCL-specific T cells were able to significantly inhibit tumor growth in mice with minimal residual MCL. Subsequently, when combined with CHOP chemotherapy, adoptive T-cell therapy was able to significantly extend the survival of the mice by further reducing the tumor burden. These results clearly show that MCL-specific cellular immunotherapy is effective in treating minimal residual MCL, paving the way for future clinical studies.

While radiation hazards induced by cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) can be reduced by sparse-view sampling, the image quality is inevitably degraded. We propose a deep learning-based multi-view projection synthesis (DLMPS) approach to improve the quality of sparse-view low-dose CBCT images. In the proposed DLMPS approach, linear interpolation was first applied to sparse-view projections and the projections were rearranged into sinograms; these sinograms were processed with a sinogram restoration model and then rearranged back into projections.

The efficacy and safety of total marrow irradiation (TMI) plus a reduced dose of melphalan as autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) preconditioning for multiple myeloma (MM) patients were evaluated. The 11 patients with MM had a median age of 57 (range: 46-75) years; six of them were at standard risk and five of them were at high risk based on the Mayo Stratification of Myeloma and Risk-adapted Therapy (mSMART) standard risk factors. Before ASCT, three patients achieved stringent complete response (sCR), two patients achieved complete remission (CR), and the rest of the patients had either partial response (PR) or progressive disease.

Co-pyrolysis is an efficient approach for municipal sewage sludge (SS) treatment, facilitating the production of biochar and promoting the stabilization and removal of heavy metals, particularly when combined with chlorinated materials. This study explores the impact of pyrolysis temperatures (400 °C and 600 °C) and chlorinated additives (polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as an organic chloride source and ferric chloride (FeCl) as an inorganic chloride source) at 10% and 20% concentrations, on the yield, chemical speciation, leachability, and ecological risks of arsenic (As), chromium (Cr), and zinc (Zn) in biochar derived from SS. The results revealed that increasing the pyrolysis temperature from 400 to 600 °C significantly reduced biochar yield due to enhanced volatilization of organic components, as well as the removal of heavy metals in interaction with chlorinated materials.
