In examined patients (45 persons aged 12-15) malocclusion Class III was caused by mesial position of mandible and it has dentoalveolar form. Significant increase of mandible body length indicated more intensive mandible growth because of reverse overbite. The use of Postnikov appliance caused changes in interposition of front teeth of maxilla and mandible due to upper dental arch extension thus normalizing occlusion.

The transcriptional response of cortical neurons to concussion reveals divergent fates after injury.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a risk factor for neurodegeneration, however little is known about how this kind of injury alters neuron subtypes. In this study, we follow neuronal populations over time after a single mild TBI (mTBI) to assess long ranging consequences of injury at the level of single, transcriptionally defined neuronal classes. We find that the stress-responsive Activating Transcription Factor 3 (ATF3) defines a population of cortical neurons after mTBI.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between maxillary defects and facial asymmetry, and to establish categories for visual perception of facial asymmetry. The facial data of 47 patients who underwent maxillary resection due to tumors were captured using stereophotogrammetry. Facial asymmetry was measured using a landmark-independent method and assessed with a Likert scale.

Aminotransferase is involved in the regulation of amino acid metabolism, which can affect the balance and distribution of amino acids in the organism, help maintain the homeostasis of amino acids in the organism, and play an important role in the environmental adaptation of aquatic animals. In this study, a total of 28 aminotransferase genes were identified in the genome of R. philippinarum.

Background And Objectives: Identifying genetic causes of dementia in patients visiting memory clinics is important for patient care and family planning. Traditional clinical selection criteria for genetic testing may miss carriers of pathogenic variants in dementia-related genes. This study aimed identify how many carriers we are missing and to optimize criteria for selecting patients for genetic counseling in memory clinics.

Parental feeding styles are an important factor influencing child development. Traditionally, they have been classified into four styles based on cut-off points for responsiveness and demandingness. However, alternative methods, such as latent class analysis (LCA), allow for the detection of underlying homogeneous populations.
