Background: This study aimed to investigate the risk factors affecting epineurectomy of the facial nerve trunk for facial synkinesis and use them to establish a prediction model to assess the recurrence of post-operative facial synkinesis.
Methods: A total of 68 patients with synkinesis after facial paralysis were enrolled in this study. They were randomized to the training and testing sets.

Facial aberrant reinnervation syndrome is characterized by aberrant facial muscle reinnervation after facial nerve injury producing facial synkinesis, hypertonicity, and muscle spasm. To systematically review the surgical treatments for facial aberrant reinnervation syndrome and assess their effectiveness as measured by patient-reported outcomes, physician-graded outcomes, or computer-automated grading systems. We conducted a systematic review using PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane CENTRAL in accordance with PRISMA guidelines.

Cross-Facial Nerve Grafting (CFNG) for facial palsy offers potential to restore spontaneous facial expression, but specific indications and associated outcomes are limited. Updates to this technique have aided in its successful employment in select cases. This review aims to explore the context in which CFNG has been successfully utilized as a primary modality.

Background: Facial nerve palsy is a condition of nerve damage that results in impaired facial movement on one or both sides of the face.
Objectives: This multicenter study aimed to determine the prevalence of facial nerve palsy and evaluate the association between its risk factors and complications to identify its etiology among patients admitted to King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between 2016 and 2023.
Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted to obtain data from medical records using the best care system for patients with facial nerve palsy.
