Sustainable alternatives to high environmental input feed ingredients are important to reducing the environmental impact of animal agriculture. Protein and oil extracted from cultivation of black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae (BSFL) on waste feedstocks such as manure, food waste and plant residues could be a suitable source of nutrients. The oil from BFSL contains large amounts of saturated fatty acids, particularly lauric acid, and may be a more sustainable alternative to palm and coconut oils that are currently used in calf milk replacers in many parts of the world.

Background: This systematic review aimed to synthesize the existing evidence on the use of () probiotics as prophylactic or therapeutic tools for pediatric oral, dental, and respiratory diseases.
Methods: A comprehensive search was carried out across multiple databases using the following terms: , probiotic, children, pediatric.
Results: The systematic literature search identified 613 publications, which were meticulously screened, and, ultimately, 15 suitable citations were included in this systematic review.

At the center of this evolution are natural bio-organic extracts, rich in bioactive compounds such as antioxidants, polyphenols, flavonoids, carotenoids, and vitamins, which can enrich traditional food products, including fruit juices, increasing their health-promoting values. The aim of the research was to compare the efficiency of extraction of bioactive compounds from various forms of plant raw material (dried, freeze-dried, frozen material) using innovative techniques: supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and accelerated solvent extraction (ASE).

In this study, carrot (orange and black) powder substitution (0-15%) and different dough applications (guar gum (GG) addition, pregelatinization (PG) and a PG + GG combination) were researched in gluten-free pasta preparation to improve the bioactive components and technological properties. Some quality attributes and bioactive components of the pasta were determined. Black carrot powder substitution into the pasta revealed rich functional properties with higher total dietary fiber (TDF), Ca, K, Mg, P and total phenolic content (TPC) than orange carrot powder.
