Police intervention is a primary response to intimate partner violence (IPV) but does not guarantee a victim's future safety. This study sought to identify factors associated with IPV survivors' perceptions of safety and risk of revictimization following police intervention. One hundred sixty-four women completed a questionnaire, and 11 of those women also took part in qualitative interviews. The findings revealed that feeling unsafe and perceiving oneself to be at risk of future violence is associated with experiencing particular forms of IPV, including battering, lethality threats, and sexual violence. Having support from others and distance from the partner helps women feel safe.

Toscana virus (TOSV), a member of the genus transmitted by sandflies, is acknowledged for its capacity to cause neurological infections and is widely distributed across Mediterranean countries. The potential geographic distribution and risk to the human population remained obscure due to its neglected nature. We searched PubMed and Web of Science for articles published between 1 January 1971 and 30 June 2023 to extract data on TOSV detection in vectors, vertebrates and humans, clinical information of human patients, as well as the occurrence of two identified sandfly vectors for TOSV.

Acquired reactive perforating dermatosis (ARPD) is characterized by its onset after the age of 18 years, umbilicated papules or nodules with a central keratotic plug, and the presence of necrotic collagen tissue within an epithelial crater. ARPD is strongly associated with systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus (DM) and chronic renal failure, which may contribute to ARPD through factors including microcirculatory disturbances and the deposition of metabolic byproducts, including advanced glycation end-products and calcium. Here, we report a case of ARPD that improved following DM treatment and catheter-based interventions for peripheral artery disease (PAD).
