Intramuscular haemangiomas of the head and neck region are rare. They may present as an incidental finding, a mass or swelling, pain, tenderness, limitation of movement or cosmetic deformity. Treatment depends on the clinical signs and symptoms. Because of the apparent rarity of this lesion, we report a case of an incidental finding of multiple radio-opacities in a dental panoramic tomograph that was diagnosed as cavernous haemangioma in temporalis muscle with multiple phleboliths.

Tender swellings of the mandible are majorly due to inflammatory lesions like infected dental cyst, peri-apical abscess or neoplasms like osteoblastomas, cementoblastomas, osteosarcoma and intraosseous squamous cell carcinoma. Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia is a subgroup of cemento-osseous dysplasia typically found in middle-aged black women as multiple, non-tender, diffuse, lobulated radio-opacities distributed throughout the maxilla and mandible, which are usually bilaterally symmetrical. Histologically, they are composed of proliferating fibrous connective tissue stroma containing foci of cementum, osteoid and bone.

We report a case of a 40-year-old female with cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding who developed multiple pulmonary emboli after endoscopic injection sclerotherapy for gastric variceal bleeding. The patient did not have any respiratory symptoms after the sclerotherapy. A chest radiograph obtained one day after the procedure for the evaluation of fever showed few small nodular radio-opacities in both hilar regions.

Aim: To study the effect of addition of various proportions of bismuth oxide on compressive strength and radiopacity of Portland cement.

Methodology: The compressive strength of white Portland cement and cement replaced with 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30% bismuth oxide was evaluated by testing cylinders 6 mm in diameter and 12 mm high. Twelve cylinders were tested for each material under study.
