The perception that quantum correlations can still appear in separable states has opened exciting new possibilities regarding their use as a resource in quantum information science. Quantifying such quantum correlations involves the complete knowledge of the system's state and numerical optimization procedures. Thus, it is natural to seek methods involving fewer measurements that indicate the nature of the correlations in a system. Here we propose a classicality witness that can be accurately estimated via statistics from a single measurement and perform an experiment to explore the utility of this witness for quantum states with different types of correlations.

Exciton transfer along a bio-polymer is essential for many biological processes, for instance, light harvesting in photosynthetic biosystems. Here we apply a new witness of non-classicality to this phenomenon, to conclude that, if an exciton can mediate the coherent quantum evolution of a photon, then the exciton is non-classical. We then propose a general qubit model for the quantum transfer of an exciton along a bio-polymer chain, also discussing the effects of environmental decoherence.

Core quantum postulates including the superposition principle and the unitarity of evolutions are natural and strikingly simple. I show that-when supplemented with a limited version of predictability (captured in the textbook accounts by the repeatability postulate)-these core postulates can account for all the symptoms of classicality. In particular, both objective classical reality and elusive information about reality arise, via quantum Darwinism, from the quantum substrate.

The ongoing exploration of the ambiguous boundary between the quantum and the classical worlds has spurred substantial developments in quantum science and technology. Recently, the nonclassicality of dynamical processes has been proposed from a quantum-information-theoretic perspective, in terms of witnessing nonclassical correlations with Hamiltonian ensemble simulations. To acquire insights into the quantum-dynamical mechanism of the process nonclassicality, here we propose to investigate the nonclassicality of the electron spin free-induction-decay process associated with an NVcenter.

Using a sub-Poissonian optical field generated from a weak twin beam by photon-number resolving post-selection we have simultaneously observed higher-order non-classicalities in photocount moments (sub-Poissonian statistics) and probabilities (witnessed by the Klyshko inequalities). Up to the seventh-order non-classicalities in photocount moments simultaneously with up to the eleventh-order non-classicalities in photocount probabilities have been experimentally observed. Non-classicality counting parameters of different orders as experimental counterparts of the theoretical Lee non-classicality depth have been suggested to quantify and also mutually compare the robustness of these non-classicalities against the noise.
