AI Article Synopsis

  • This study investigates the role of gluons with linear polarization in unpolarized hadrons and their impact on the distribution of Higgs bosons' transverse momentum during collisions.
  • The presence of these polarized gluons alters the typical momentum distribution associated with unpolarized gluons.
  • This alteration can help researchers determine the nature of the Higgs boson, specifically whether it is a scalar or pseudoscalar particle.

Article Abstract

We study how gluons carrying linear polarization inside an unpolarized hadron contribute to the transverse momentum distribution of Higgs bosons produced in hadronic collisions. They modify the distribution produced by unpolarized gluons in a characteristic way that could be used to determine whether the Higgs boson is a scalar or a pseudoscalar particle.
