Instantaneous and average energy dissipation distributions in the nanoscale due to short and long range interactions are described. We employ both a purely continuous and a semi-discrete approach to analyze the consequences of this distribution in terms of rate of heat generation, thermal flux, adhesion hysteresis, viscoelasticity and atomic dissipative processes. The effects of peak values are also discussed in terms of the validity of the use of average values of power and energy dissipation. Analytic expressions for the instantaneous power are also derived. We further provide a general expression to calculate the effective area of interaction for fundamental dissipative processes and relate it to the energy distribution profile in the interaction area. Finally, a semi-discrete approach to model and interpret atomic dissipative processes is proposed and shown to lead to realistic values for the atomic bond dissipation and viscoelastic atomic processes.

To address the challenges related to active power dissipation and node voltage fluctuation in the practical transformation of power grids in the field of new energy such as wind and photovoltaic power generation, an improved Dung Beetle Optimization Algorithm Based on a Hybrid Strategy of Levy Flight and Differential Evolution (LDEDBO) is proposed. This paper systematically addresses this issue from three aspects: firstly, optimizing the DBO algorithm using Chebyshev chaotic mapping, Levy flight strategy, and differential evolution algorithm; secondly, validating the algorithm's feasibility through real-time network reconfiguration at random time points within a 24-h period; and finally, applying the LDEDBO to address the dynamic reconfiguration problems of the IEEE-33 and IEEE-69 node bus. The simulation indicates that the power dissipation of the IEEE-33 node bus is decreased by 28.

Conductive hydrogels have great potential for applications in flexible wearable sensors due to the combination of biocompatibility, mechanical flexibility and electrical conductivity. However, constructing conductive hydrogels with high toughness, low hysteresis and skin-like modulus simultaneously remains challenging. In the present study, we prepared a tough and conductive polyacrylamide/pullulan/ammonium sulfate hydrogel with a semi-interpenetrating network.

Purepose: The intraoperative femtosecond laser time, Cumulative Dissipated Energy (CDE), Effective Phacoemulsification time (EPT), and intraoperative fluid perfusion volume were compared under different model fragmentation modes using Catalys femtosecond laser system.
Methods: This was a single-center, prospective, randomized controlled study. A total of 120 eyes who underwent femtosecond laser-assisted cataract phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation in Xiamen Eye Center affiliated to Xiamen University from September 2022 to March 2023 were randomly divided into 4 groups to undergo pre-nucleus splitting in different ways: Group 1: six-split, Group 2: eight-split, Group 3: six-split + gridded softening, and Group 4: eight-split + gridded softening.

In this work, we present an experimental approach for monitoring the temperature of submicrometric, real-time operating electrical circuits using luminescence thermometry. For this purpose, we utilized lanthanide-doped up-converting nanocrystals as nanoscale temperature probes, which, combined with a highly sensitive confocal photoluminescence microscope, enabled temperature monitoring with spatial resolution limited only by the diffraction of light. To validate our concept, we constructed a simple model of an electrical microcircuit based on a single silver nanowire with a diameter of approximately 100 nm and a length of about 50 µm, whose temperature increase was induced by electric current flow.

Hydrogels, known for their outstanding water absorption, flexibility, and biocompatibility, have been widely utilized in various fields. Nevertheless, their application is still limited by their relatively low mechanical performance. This study has successfully developed a dual-network hydrogel with exceptional mechanical properties by embedding amino-functionalized polysiloxane (APSi) networks into a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix.
