Vascular dementia (VaD) refers to a variety of dementias driven by cerebrovascular disease and is the second leading cause of dementia globally. VaD may be caused by ischemic strokes, intracerebral hemorrhage, and/or cerebral small vessel disease, commonly identified as white matter hyperintensities on MRI. The mechanisms underlying these white matter lesions in the periventricular brain are poorly understood.

Vacuum-assisted delivery (VAD) uses a vacuum cup on the fetal scalp to apply traction during uterine contractions, assisting complicated vaginal deliveries. Despite its widespread use, VAD presents a higher risk of neonatal morbidity compared to natural vaginal delivery and biomechanical evidence for safe VAD traction forces is still limited. The aim of this study is to develop and assess the feasibility of an experimental VAD testing setup, and investigate the impact of traction forces on fetal brain deformation.

Aortic coarctation represents up to 7% of congenital heart diseases and is associated with hypertension and coronary artery disease, which continues to be the leading cause of death even after successful surgical repair. However, there is limited knowledge of managing both conditions, especially in the setting of an acute coronary syndrome. We herein present the case of a 53-year-old man with a history of hypertension who initially presented with an ST-elevation myocardial infarction successfully treated with thrombolysis and hemodynamic compromise.

Background: Vascular dementia (VaD) is the second most common cause of dementia globally and is associated with a significant economic and social burden. Diet could represent an important tractable risk factor for VaD. We synthesised current evidence on associations between consumption of specific foods or dietary patterns and VaD risk.

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is characterized by the absence of hormones and growth factor receptors. It is typically responsive to anthracycline/taxol-based conventional chemotherapy. However, major therapeutic limitations include systemic toxicity and acquired resistance to chemotherapeutics.
