Unlabelled: Respiratory viral infection are one of the most frequent problem in infant and the younger children. Respiratory syncytial virus infects nearly all children (75-100%) in the first 36 months of life.
Aim: Analysis of clinical aspects and treatment of respiratory syncytial virus infection in infant hospitalized in year 2009-2010 in Department of Pediatrics Propedeutics and Bone Metabolism Diseases.
Methods: Medical documentary of 32 infants in the first 6 months of life was analysed.
Results: The most frequent clinical symptoms were increased dyspnoea - in 96.88% children and discharge in respiratory tract - in 78.13% children. In near all patients (93.75%) antibiotic was used in treatment and Budesonid was applied in 87.5% children. Infants with Respiratory syncytial virus infections were hospitalized because of increased dyspnoea. Antibioticotherapy used in the examinated infants prevented complications.

Acute respiratory infections (ARIs) are a leading cause of death in children under five globally. The seasonal trends and profiles of respiratory viruses vary by region and season. Due to limited information and the population's vulnerability, we conducted the hospital-based surveillance of respiratory viruses in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remains a significant global health threat, particularly for vulnerable populations. Despite extensive research, effective antiviral therapies are still limited. To address this urgent need, we present AVP-GPT2, a deep-learning model that significantly outperforms its predecessor, AVP-GPT, in designing and screening antiviral peptides.

The development of antivirals for respiratory viruses has advanced markedly in response to the growing threat of pathogens such as Influenzavirus (IAV), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and SARS-CoV-2. This article reviews the advances and challenges in this field, highlighting therapeutic strategies that target critical stages of the viral replication cycle, including inhibitors of viral entry, replication, and assembly. In addition, innovative approaches such as inhibiting host cellular proteins to reduce viral resistance and repurposing existing drugs are explored, using advanced bioinformatics tools that optimize the identification of antiviral candidates.

: Lower airway diseases in children are one of the major causes of hospitalisation. This study aimed to evaluate the characteristics of children admitted to a tertiary pediatric hospital diagnosed with lower airway disease and to identify differences between age groups and the two years of the study. : In this single-centre retrospective observational study, demographic and clinical information about children hospitalised in the emergency pediatric ward and diagnosed with lower respiratory disease from 1 June 2021 to 30 June 2023 were retrospectively reviewed.

: Three respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccines have been recently made available for older adults. Understanding the principal characteristics of the first vaccine-takers can pave the way for a successful vaccination campaign. The objective of this study was to explore the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of the first Italian users of an adjuvanted RSV vaccine and their attitudes towards RSV and vaccination.
