For a wide range of chronic autoimmune and inflammatory diseases in both adults and children, synthetic glucocorticoids (GCs) are one of the most effective treatments. Methods: A multidisciplinary working group was formed with delegates from Dutch scientific and professional societies, including representatives from the patient's organization and the Dutch Institute for Medical Knowledge.
