Background: The safety of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) in patients with acute ischemic stroke over the age of 80 is unclear. We hypothesized that patients over the age of 80 can be safely treated with IVT.

Methods: Admission and discharge data were collected on all patients at a single tertiary care center presenting within 12 hours of onset. Collected data included treatment with IVT, demographics, pretreatment National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score, length of stay, mortality, and discharge disposition. Analyses were restricted to patients over the age of 80, and the primary outcome was in-hospital mortality. Logistic regression was used to examine whether IVT was associated with mortality.

Results: Between January 1, 2005 and May 30, 2010, 112 patients over the age of 80 presented within 3 hours of ischemic stroke onset, and 31 received IVT. There were 15 deaths. In multivariable models adjusted for age, sex, race-ethnicity, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, treatment with IVT, compared with no treatment, was not associated with in-hospital death (adjusted odds ratio, 1.2; 95% confidence interval, 0.3-4.3).

Conclusions: Treating ischemic stroke patients over 80 years with IVT was not associated with an increase in mortality in an urban tertiary care center.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the clinicopathologic features of primary fallopian tubal carcinoma (PFTC) and high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) and explore the prognostic factors of these two malignant tumors.

Methods: Fifty-seven patients diagnosed with PFTC from 2006 to 2015 and 60 patients diagnosed with HGSOC from 2014 to 2015 with complete prognostic information were identified at Women's Hospital of Zhejiang University. The clinicopathological and surgical data were collected, and the survival of the patients was followed for 5 years after surgery.

Background: There is still a significant proportion of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in whom multiple therapeutic lines are ineffective. These cases are defined by the EULAR criteria as Difficult-to-Treat RA (D2T-RA) for which there is limited knowledge of predisposing factors.

Objective: To identify the clinical features associated with D2T-RA in real-life practice.

Background: De-intensification of anti-cancer therapy without significantly affecting outcomes is an important goal. Omission of axillary surgery or breast radiation is considered a reasonable option in elderly patients with early-stage breast cancer and good prognostic factors. Data on avoidance of both axillary surgery and radiation therapy (RT) is scarce and inconclusive.

Purpose: This scoping review aims to summarize online health information seeking (OHIS) behavior among breast cancer patients and survivors, identify research gaps, and offer insights for future studies.

Methods: Following Arksey and O'Malley's framework, we conducted a review across PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL, MEDLINE, Cochrane, Embase, CNKI, Wanfang Data, and SinoMed, covering literature from 1 January 2014 to 13 August 2023. A total of 1,368 articles were identified, with 33 meeting the inclusion criteria.

Background: PSEN1, PSEN2, and APP mutations cause Alzheimer's disease (AD) with an early age at onset (AAO) and progressive cognitive decline. PSEN1 mutations are more common and generally have an earlier AAO; however, certain PSEN1 mutations cause a later AAO, similar to those observed in PSEN2 and APP.

Methods: We examined whether common disease endotypes exist across these mutations with a later AAO (~ 55 years) using hiPSC-derived neurons from familial Alzheimer's disease (FAD) patients harboring mutations in PSEN1, PSEN2, and APP and mechanistically characterized by integrating RNA-seq and ATAC-seq.
