The Authors report the results obtained in 35 patients of either sex suffering from various systemic infections and treated with netilmicin. Netilmicin has been intramuscularly administered in once daily dose of 4.5 mg/kg (mean daily dose 294.3 mg) for a mean duration of 17.8 days. The clinical resolution of the infections has been achieved in 97.1% (34 patients) of the study population; only one patient showed failure. Thirty-three of the 35 baseline causative pathogens have been eradicated. The local and systemic tolerability was good. The serum pharmacokinetics showed bactericidal levels of netilmicin and no serum accumulation.

Background: Recreational screen time (RST) has been found to be associated with cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases. However, the association between RST and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), an ocular neurodegenerative disease, is still unclear. We aimed to elucidate the association between RST and AMD.

PARP inhibitors like olaparib may improve glioblastoma outcomes. We implemented a phase 1-2a trial to assess the safety and efficacy of olaparib combined with standard radio-chemotherapy as a first-line treatment in unresected glioblastoma patients.

Vitamin D is essential for cattle and can be synthesized in the skin under ultraviolet irradiation. This study investigated the effects of narrow-band UV-B irradiation during automatic milking on blood vitamin D concentration and the influence of hair and black skin areas on cutaneous vitamin D synthesis in Holstein Friesian cows. Fifty-one cows were stratified by milk yield, days after calving, and percentage of black skin, then divided into three groups: shaved and irradiated (80 J/m), unshaved and irradiated (129-305 J/m), and a control group.

Dose-related reference ranges can be used in therapeutic drug monitoring to monitor pharmacotherapy. The deviation of a measured serum concentration from the expected serum concentration at the corresponding dose can thus be identified early and responded to appropriately. The serum concentrations of patients treated with cariprazine regularly deviated from this dose-related reference range.
