Microdialysis tools have been developed for parallelized medium exchange designated for sample volumes from 10 to 100 μl, compatible with the microplate format, and guaranteeing maximum recoveries without selectivity. These tools are applicable to both protein and peptide analysis. Moreover, they may be used for binding studies as well as for reconcentration and as unique sample containers for complex operating sequences allowing contemporaneous processing and high throughput.

Background: Canine adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (cAD-MSCs) demonstrate promising tissue repair and regeneration capabilities. However, the procurement and preservation of these cells or their secreted factors for therapeutic applications pose a risk of viral contamination, and the consequences for cAD-MSCs remain unexplored. Consequently, this research sought to assess the impact of canid alphaherpesvirus 1 (CHV) on the functional attributes of cAD-MSCs, including gene expression profiles and secretome composition.

Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAb) is an urgent bacterial threat to public health, with only a few treatment options and a > 50% fatality rate. Although several resistance mechanisms are understood, it is still impossible to predict which mutations are most likely to occur. Here, we demonstrate that independent samples of Ab, exposed to different carbapenems with escalating concentrations, show concentration- and carbapenem-dependent trends in β-lactamase-isoform expression.

Equine melanocytic neoplasm (EMN) represents a form of skin tumor observed predominantly in grey horses aged over 15 years. Despite its prevalence, current therapeutic and preventive strategies for EMN have been subject to limited investigation. This study endeavors to shed light on potential phosphoproteins present in equine serum and fecal samples, potentially linked to EMN, with a specific focus on functional interactions in EMN pathogenesis.

Preeclampsia is a pregnancy disorder with substantial perinatal and maternal morbidity and mortality. Pregnant women at risk of preeclampsia would benefit from early detection for follow-up, timely interventions and delivery. Several attempts have been made to identify protein biomarkers of preeclampsia, but findings vary with demographics, clinical characteristics, and time of sampling.

Aim: To discover new salivary biomarkers to diagnose periodontitis and evaluate the impact of age and smoking on predictive capacity.
Material And Methods: Saliva samples were collected from 44 healthy periodontal individuals and 41 with periodontitis. Samples were analysed by sequential window acquisition of all theoretical mass spectra (SWATH-MS), and proteins were identified by employing the UniProt database.
