Background And Purpose: Radiation induced lung fibrosis (RILF) is a major complication after lung irradiation and is very important for long term quality of life and could result in fatal respiratory insufficiency. However, there has been little information on dosimetric parameters for radiotherapy planning in the aspect of RILF. The features of RILF related with dosimetric parameters were evaluated.

Methods And Materials: Forty-eight patients with non-small cell lung carcinoma who underwent post-operative radiation therapy (PORT) without adjuvant chemotherapy were analyzed. The degree of lung fibrosis was estimated by fibrosis volume and the dosimetric parameters were calculated from the plan of 3-dimensional conformal radiotherapy.

Results: The fibrosis volume and V-dose as dosimetric parameters showed significant correlation and the correlation coefficient ranged from 0.602 to 0.683 (P<0.01). The degree of the correlation line was steeper as the dose increase and threshold dose was not found. Mean lung dose (MLD) showed strong correlation with fibrosis volume (correlation coefficient = 0.726, P<0.01).

Conclusions: The fibrosis volume is continuously increased with V-dose as the reference dose increases. MLD is useful as a single parameter for comparing rival plans in the aspect of RILF.

Purpose: Increasing life expectancy and advances in cancer treatment will lead to more patients needing both radiation therapy (RT) and cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). CIEDs, including pacemakers and defibrillators, are essential for managing cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. Telemetric monitoring of CIEDs checks battery status, lead function, settings, and diagnostic data, thereby identifying software deviations or damage.

Purpose: Our objective was to identify the dosimetric parameters and prostate volume that most accurately predict the incidence of acute and late gastrointestinal (GI) and genitourinary (GU) toxicity in prostate cancer stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) treatments.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 122 patients who received SABR for prostate cancer at our clinic between March 2018 and September 2022 using a five-fraction SABR regimen. The existing plans of these patients were re-evaluated according to our institutional protocols (Hacettepe University [HU-1] and HU-2) as well as PACE‑B, RTOG 0938, and NRG GU005 dose-volume constraints.

Aim: To characterize the differences of dynamic changes for absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) among esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) patients treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) with or without pembrolizumab, as well as to investigate the clinical and lymphocyte-related organs dosimetric parameters that would impact ALC nadir during nCRT.

Materials And Methods: A total of 216 ESCC patients who received nCRT (with pembrolizumab 144; without pembrolizumab: 72) were identified from a prospective cohort. Weekly and 1-month post-nCRT ALC were identified.

Purpose: To investigate the performance of a machine learning-based segmentation method for treatment planning of gastric cancer.

Materials And Methods: Eighteen patients planned to be irradiated for gastric cancer were studied. The target and the surrounding organs-at-risk (OARs) were manually delineated on CT scans.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the effect of couch rotation angles on non-coplanar volumetric modulated arc therapy (ncVMAT) plan for stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) in lung cancer patients and to evaluate the feasibility of clinically applying ncVMAT for SBRT.

Methods: Twenty-four lung cancer patients with a single lesion eligible for SBRT were enrolled in the study. Seven dual partial-arc VMAT plans with varying couch angles were designed for every patient.
