Purpose: Topical ice has been shown to reduce pain scores and opioid use in adults with midline abdominal incisions. This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of a cold therapy system in children following laparoscopic appendectomy.
Methods: Patients 7 years and older who underwent laparoscopic appendectomy at our institution from December 2021-September 2022 were eligible.

To assess the ability to deliver full-thickness bladder wall cryoablation through a cystoscopic approach using a new closed-loop 6F cryocatheter and thermal dose-controlled protocol. Evaluations were conducted using a chronic porcine model wherein 10 lesions/animal were created throughout the bladder (bladder wall, trigone region, ureteral orifice, and distal ureter). A 6F cryocatheter was passed through the working channel of a flexible cystoscope.

Study Objective: To evaluate the benefit of ice packs as a supplement to standard pain management following laparoscopic hysterectomy (LH).
Design: This Institutional Review Board-approved randomized controlled trial involved patients undergoing LH for benign conditions. Subjects were randomized to receive standard enhanced recovery after surgery pain management or standard enhanced recovery after surgery plus ice packs.
