Objective: To investigate malignant transformation of sinonasal inverted papilloma (SIP) treated by nasal endoscopic and endoscopy-assisted surgery.
Methods: Seven cases with malignant transformation of SIP treated by nasal endoscopic and endoscopy-assisted surgery from February 2001 to December 2010 were reviewed. Followed-up time after surgery for each case was over 3 years. All cases were unilateral disease and at grade IV according to the SIP grading standards of Krouse. One case was T2, five T3, and one T4. The surgery were performed under general anaesthesia or local and strengthen anaesthesia. Postoperative radiotherapy was applied, with the doses of 60 - 70 GY.
Results: All cases were squamous cell carcinoma confirmed pathologically after surgery. The patients were followed up with endoscopic examination for 3 - 5 years. Of 7 cases, recurrent disease occurred in 3 years after operation, but no recurrence in other 4 cases.
Conclusions: Nasal endoscopic and endoscopy-assisted surgery can be used in the treatment for the malignant transformation of SIP, with the advantages of minimally invasion, fewer complications and the well-preserved nasal functions. Application of radiotherapy after surgery could improve long-term survival efficacy of the patients.

Hydroa vacciniforme lymphoproliferative disorders (HVLPD) fall within the clinical spectrum of chronic active epstein barr virus (EBV) disease (CAEBVD), ranging from localised and/or indolent forms (classic HVLPD) to systemic disease with fever, hepatosplenomegaly and lymphadenopathy (systemic HVLPD). A preadolescent male with 47XYY, multicystic dysplastic kidney, autism spectrum disorder and Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) presented with photodistributed non-pruritic, non-painful necrotic papulovesicles accompanied by non-febrile intermittent fatigue and lymphadenopathy. The patient had a history of EBV pneumonia in infancy confirmed by CT scan and was later diagnosed with CAEBV.

Background: Cisplatin (DDP) resistance has long posed a challenge in the clinical treatment of lung cancer (LC). Insulin-like growth factor 2 binding protein 2 (IGF2BP2) has been identified as an oncogenic factor in LC, whereas its specific role in DDP resistance in LC remains unclear.
Results: In this study, we investigated the role of IGF2BP2 on DDP resistance in DDP-resistant A549 cells (A549/DDP) in vitro and in a DDP-resistant lung tumor-bearing mouse model in vivo.

HR/HER2-low breast cancer is a significant subgroup of conventional HR/HER2-negative breast cancer, and combination of CDK4/6 inhibitor and endocrine therapy is the standard first-line and second-line treatments for advanced HR/HER2-low breast cancer. Nevertheless, it remains uncertain whether HER2 signaling affects the effectiveness of CDK4/6 inhibitor administered in combination with endocrine therapy for HR/HER2-low breast cancer and suitable intervention measures. This study revealed poor efficacy for CDK4/6 inhibitor combined with endocrine therapy for HR/HER2-low breast cancer in vitro and in vivo models.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common type of head and neck cancer. The development and progression of OSCC are closely linked to various aetiological factors. Early signs of OSCC may manifest as oral lesions, genetic abnormalities, and chronic inflammation.

Mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells exhibit significant potential in the assessment of tumor development and immunotherapy. However, there is currently no convenient and efficient method to analyze the quantitative changes of MAIT cells during cancer development and treatment, which has not been extensively studied. Here, we report an electrochemical biosensor designed to efficiently monitor MAIT cells in peripheral blood by simultaneously recognizing Vα7.
