Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is a highly effective surgical intervention for end-stage hip joint disorders. While common complications such as infection, dislocation, and prosthetic loosening are well-documented, rarer complications remain underreported. One such complication is foreign body interposition on the bearing surface, which can compromise joint mechanics and adversely affect outcomes.

Background: Obesity is a growing global epidemic, with glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists emerging as effective pharmacological solutions for weight loss. However, these medications raise concerns in the context of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery due to their effects on wound healing, adipose tissue metabolism, and their potential impact on surgical outcomes.
Objective: To report two cases of delayed wound healing and fat necrosis in patients undergoing breast surgery while receiving GLP-1 receptor agonists for weight management.

Introduction: Nociception monitoring has recently gained recognition as a valuable tool for guiding intraoperative opioid administration. Several nociception monitors, including the Surgical Pleth Index, the Index of Consciousness (IoC) and the Nociception Level, have been introduced for managing intraoperative analgesia. While these technologies show promise in initial applications, the effectiveness of IoC2 in guiding pain management during anaesthesia, particularly in elderly patients who require precise opioid use, remains unclear.
