Giant ovarian cysts (GOCs) have become less common in developed countries due to routine health screenings, but they remain prevalent in economically underdeveloped regions. Treatment options for GOCs depend on factors such as age, cyst characteristics, and pregnancy status. Minimally invasive single-port laparoscopic surgery has largely replaced traditional open surgery due to its aesthetic advantages and effectiveness.

Following the satisfactory catalytic performance of cobalt in the -glycosylation of glycals, further study of cobalt's application values was performed under mild conditions, leading to a range of highly α-stereoselective 2,3-unsaturated , , and glycosides. The synthetic potential of the developed protocol was underscored by the late-stage functionalization of pharmaceutically relevant molecules including the canagliflozin derivative (a potential candidate for treating type 2 diabetes and alleviating pathological aging). Furthermore, control experiments were conducted to elucidate a reasonable mechanism and rule out the pathway involving the configuration conversion between and anomers.

Background: Novel technologies are needed to combat anopheline vectors of malaria parasites as the reductions in worldwide disease incidence has stalled in recent years. Gene drive-based approaches utilizing Cas9/guide RNA (gRNA) systems are being developed to suppress anopheline populations or modify them by increasing their refractoriness to the parasites. These systems rely on the successful cleavage of a chromosomal DNA target site followed by homology-directed repair (HDR) in germline cells to bias inheritance of the drive system.
