Mycoplasma pneumoniae strain 309, a type 2a (subtype 2 variant) strain of this bacterium, has variations in the P1 protein, which is responsible for attachment of the bacterium to host cells. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of M. pneumoniae strain 309 isolated from a pneumonia patient in Japan.

This paper presents the results of experimental tests and computer simulations on the stiffness of composite aluminium mullions used in unitised façades. The elements analysed were subjected to bending in order to simulate the actual operating conditions of aluminium façades subjected to significant wind pressure or suction loads. The basic mechanical and physical properties of the materials from which the analysed type of aluminium façade is made (Aluminium EN AW-6060 in the T66 temper and polyamide PA66 25GF), the test method, and the results obtained are described.

Chitosan (CH)-based composite films have attracted increasing attention as promising green food packaging materials due to their biodegradability and ease of fabrication. Additionally, lignin (LN) has been widely used as additive for chitosan-based films to improve their physicochemical properties. In this study, a series of composite films made of chitosan nanoparticles (NCH) as a matrix and alkali lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) as functional filler were prepared.

The annotated and predicted genomes of five archaeal strains (AS1, AS2, AS8, AS11 and AS19), isolated from Sfax solar saltern sediments (Tunisia) and affiliated with , were performed by RAST webserver (Rapid Annotation using Subsystem Technology) and NCBI prokaryotic genome annotation pipeline (PGAP). The results showed the ability of strains to use a reduced semi-phosphorylative Entner-Doudoroff pathway for glucose degradation and an Embden-Meyerhof one for gluconeogenesis. They could use glucose, fructose, glycerol, and acetate as sole source of carbon and energy.

Background: The colonization of (SA) acquired in nosocomial infections may develop acute and chronic infections such as Methicillin-Resistant (MRSA) in the nose. As a commensal microorganism with the ability to form a biofilm, SA can dwell on the skin, nostrils, throat, perineum, and axillae of healthy humans. Nitric oxide (NO) is an unstable gas with various molecular functions and has antimicrobial properties which are converted into many potential treatments.

O3-NaNiFeMnO has attracted much attention as a cathode for sodium-ion batteries, because of its low cost and high sodium-ion storage capacity. However, its slow Na diffusion kinetics and harmful P3-O3' phase transition with severe bulk strain at high voltage leads to poor rate capability and fast capacity fading. Herein, we propose a multivariate doping strategy with Cu, Mg, and Ti ions to solve the above problems of the O3-NaNiFeMnO cathode.
