Background: Patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) receiving radiation therapy (RT) are at increased risk for symptoms of oral mucositis (OM), opioid use, and declines in physical function, outcomes that contribute to increased morbidity and mortality. The study objective was to determine the effects of respiratory muscle training (RMT) on OM and opioid use, as well as functional performance in patients with HNC receiving RT with or without concurrent chemotherapy (CCRT).
Methods: Patients aged ≥ 18 years of age with stage I to IV HNC being treated with RT or CCRT receiving a home-based respiratory muscle training (RMT) (n = 20) were compared to a 5:1 matched historical group (n = 100) who did not receive RMT.

Objectives: Healthcare workers, as a high-stress professional group, face long-term high-intensity workloads and complex medical environments, resulting in increasingly prominent mental health issues. In particular, the widespread presence of anxiety symptoms and somatic pain has become a major factor affecting both the quality of care and the career development of healthcare workers. This study aims to investigate the mediating and moderating roles of psychological resilience and sleep in the relationship between somatic pain and anxiety among healthcare workers.

Introduction: There is a well-established relationship between the respiratory compensation point (RCP) and local muscular breakpoints determined from near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and electromyography (EMG). However, these breakpoints have not yet been compared both in locomotor and non-locomotor muscles simultaneously in single-leg cycling exercise. Therefore, the aim of the study was to investigate the relationship and agreement between systemic and local breakpoints in locomotor and non-locomotor muscles.
