This work proposes a design methodology using ergonomics and anthropometry concepts applied to traffic sign and street name sign projects. Initially, a literature revision on cognitive ergonomics and anthropometry is performed. Several authors and their design methodologies are analyzed and the aspects to be considered in projects of traffic and street name signs are selected and other specific aspects are proposed for the design methodology. A case study of the signs of "Street of Antiques" in Porto Alegre city is presented. To do that, interviews with the population are made to evaluate the current situation of signs. After that, a new sign proposal with virtual prototyping is done using the developed methodology. The results obtained with new interviews about the proposal show the user satisfaction and the importance of cognitive ergonomics to development of this type of urban furniture.

Objective: Exit ramps are accident-prone areas of freeways. One of the reasons for this is the information overload induced by destination signs, which makes them challenging to recognize and may even result in tension or mistakes. This study examined the cognitive workload that destination signs place on drivers and the compensatory behavior they use to counteract the additional workload.

Aim: To discuss extended retrorectal abscess secondary to blunt abdominal trauma as a cause of abdominal wall (AW) infection and impairment.
Methods: According to the CARE checklist, we describe a rare case of blunt abdominal trauma with late diagnosis of jejunal perforation with an abscess that extensively dissected the retromuscular space.
Results: A 65 years-old female patient experienced multiple traumas after a traffic collision.

Trauma during pregnancy poses a potentially tragic risk to both the fetus and mother, making its management particularly challenging. Here, we present the case of a 35-year-old woman at 34 weeks and 2 days gestation who was in a motor vehicle accident and subsequently suffered placental abruption and underwent an emergency cesarean section. We also present a review of traumatic placental abruption and its epidemiology.

Drivers often encounter time pressure, which can lead to riskier driving habits, decreased safety margins, and a higher chance of accidents. Given that taxi drivers frequently experience these conditions, this study examines how time pressure impacts the driving behaviors of both taxi and non-professional drivers. In this regard, a driving simulator experiment was carried out to assess the driving behaviors of both groups under time pressure.

Static obstacles (tunnel sidewalls, barricades, etc.) on the side of mountainous highways change the spatial range of the road during driving, restricting the driver's freedom of driving while possibly triggering the driver's shy away effect, which poses a specific potential safety hazard. To understand the characteristics of driving behaviour in mountain highway tunnels with different tunnel lengths and lateral obstacles, nine tunnels in Chongqing were selected for real-vehicle tests, and data on driving trajectories, speeds and other metrics were collected from 40 drivers.
