The relationship between length of lifeline and age at death has been evaluated in 100 consecutive autopsies. A highly significant association between the two was discovered which was strengthened further when hand size was controlled for. We feel that a powerful new prognostic sign may thus be within grasp.

Objectives: Few studies have examined the underlying mechanisms of education, diets, and cognitive function in older adults. This study analyses the relationship between cognitive trajectories, education, and different dietary patterns in older adults from a network perspective, and further explores their longitudinal associations and mediation effects.
Methods: Data on cognitive trajectories were derived from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) between 2008 and 2018.

Postmitotic skeletal muscle critically depends on tightly regulated protein degradation to maintain proteomic stability. Impaired macroautophagy/autophagy-lysosomal or ubiquitin-proteasomal protein degradation causes the accumulation of damaged proteins, ultimately accelerating muscle dysfunction with age. While studies have demonstrated the complementary nature of these systems, their interplay at the organism levels remains poorly understood.

Background: Transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) has emerged as a novel noninvasive adjunct therapy for advanced Parkinson's disease (PD), yet no quantitative analysis had been conducted to assess its therapeutic effect.
Objectives: This review aimed to investigate the efficacy of tVNS on motor function, other potential clinical targets and its safety in various treatment conditions.
Methods: We searched six databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that involved treating PD patients with tVNS.

Purpose: There is a consistent relationship with greater ovulation frequency and increased risk of ovarian cancer. However, prior research on infertility, which may be associated with ovulation frequency through multiple mechanisms, and ovarian cancer has yielded conflicting results, possibly due to prior research conflating fertility treatment with infertility and restricting follow-up to premenopausal cases. Our objective was to determine the association between infertility and risk of postmenopausal ovarian cancer, overall and by histotype, in a population that had not received treatment with IVF.
