Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is one of the most popular molecular biological techniques and has been widely applied in many areas. However, PCR still faces challenges nowadays. During recent decades, the experimental procedure of PCR, including the primer design, was always the focus of attention, while little attention was paid to the analysis of the PCR template, and still nobody can accurately predict whether or not a DNA sequence can be simply amplified using conventional Taq DNA polymerase-based PCR protocol. In this study, we focus on the DNA template, the subject of PCR experiment, and introduce a support vector machine (SVM) based method to help evaluate PCR result. Through the Jackknife cross-validation test, our method achieves an accuracy of 92.06%, with 93.62% sensitivity and 90.53% specificity.

Objective: The vicious circle model of obesity proposes that the hippocampus plays a crucial role in food reward processing and obesity. However, few studies focused on whether and how pediatric obesity influences the potential direction of information exchange between the hippocampus and key regions, as well as whether these alterations in neural interaction could predict future BMI and eating behaviors.
Methods: In this longitudinal study, a total of 39 children with excess weight (overweight/obesity) and 51 children with normal weight, aged 8 to 12, underwent resting-state fMRI.

The Cry1Fa insecticidal protein from (Bt) was expressed on the surface of (Bs) spores to create transgenic Bs spores referred to as Spore-Cry1Fa. Cry1Fa, along with its leader sequence, was connected to the carboxyl end of a Bs spore outercoat protein, CotC, through a flexible linker. The Arg-27 residue of the Cry1Fa protein was mutated to Leu to prevent detachment from the spores due to protease digestion.

Background: Programmed cell death plays an important role in neuronal injury and death after ischemic stroke (IS), leading to cellular glucose deficiency. Glucose deficiency can cause abnormal accumulation of cytotoxic disulfides, resulting in disulfidptosis.
