The negative impact of psoriasis on a patient's quality of life (QoL) is well documented in the literature. Patients often suffer poor self-esteem, difficulties in social interactions, and significant psychological distress. It is, therefore, critically important that a clinician evaluate the extent to which the disease impacts a patient's QoL. This chapter reviews several validated and reliable generic, dermatology-specific, and disease-specific QoL instruments useful in measuring the impact of psoriasis on patient's QoL. These QoL instruments can be especially helpful in identifying those patients who would most benefit from systemic or biologic therapy.

Background: Indolent Systemic Mastocytosis (ISM) is a rare disease associated with numerous and diverse symptoms that significantly impact patients' overall health, psychological, emotional, and professional well-being, ultimately affecting their quality of life.
Objective: We aim to estimate the Disability-adjusted Life Year (DALY) of ISM to assess the burden for patients and society.
Methods: We used prospective and retrospective data on symptoms and quality of life from an ISM population recruited at the French expert center CEREMAST, to estimate Disability Weight allowing DALY calculation.

Parvovirus B19 (B19V) is a human pathogen from the Parvoviridae family that primarily targets and replicates in erythroid progenitor cells (EPCs). While its symptoms are typically self-limiting in healthy individuals, B19V can cause or exacerbate autoimmune diseases in vulnerable patients. This review integrates the involvement of B19V in the development and worsening of several autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), hematological disorders (thalassemia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia), vasculitis, antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), dermatological disease (systemic sclerosis, psoriasis), autoimmune thyroid disease, myocarditis, and myasthenia gravis, and autoinflammatory disease of adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD).

The human skin microbiome plays an essential role in protecting against pathogens and other external substances. This open ecosystem is also influenced by personal and environmental factors, but the precise impact of these factors, such as lifestyle and season, is understudied. We focused here on the inner elbow, a skin site prone to inflammatory conditions like atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.

Purpose: Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and psoriasis (Pso) are highly heterogeneous inflammatory diseases. Multidisciplinary approaches are associated with improved results in both musculoskeletal (MSK) and skin manifestations. We describe the experience and main diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes of one of the largest and longest-running Rheumatology/Dermatology multidisciplinary PsA Clinic.

This systematic review explores the relationship between achieving minimal disease activity in psoriasis and the progression of atherosclerosis. It investigates how biologic therapies and other treatments impact atherosclerosis markers, offering insights into therapeutic strategies. A comprehensive search of PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science was conducted from January 1, 2000, to April 1, 2023, using terms such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, atherosclerosis, biologic therapy, vascular stiffness, carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), and coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA).
