Different algorithms exist that can be applied to the calculation of the effects of true coincidence summing in gamma-ray spectrometry. Some of these, however, are not capable of reproducing the count rates in all the pure sum peaks that a spectrum may contain. A recursive, easy-to-implement deterministic algorithm has been developed that overcomes this shortcoming.

This study first proposes an innovative method for optimizing the maximum power extraction from photovoltaic (PV) systems during dynamic and static environmental conditions (DSEC) by applying the horse herd optimization algorithm (HHOA). The HHOA is a bio-inspired technique that mimics the motion cycles of an entire herd of horses. Next, the linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) was applied to monitor the HHOA's reference voltage output.

The multi-parameter and nonlinear characteristics of the Smith Watson Topper (SWT) equation present considerable challenges for predicting the fatigue life of 2024-T3 clad Al alloy. To overcome these challenges, a novel model integrating traditional fatigue analysis methods with machine learning algorithms is introduced. An improved SWT fatigue life prediction equation is developed by incorporating key factors such as the mean stress effect, stress concentration factor, and surface roughness coefficient.

Shannon Entropy Computations in Navier-Stokes Flow Problems Using the Stochastic Finite Volume Method.

Entropy (Basel)

January 2025

Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering, Lodz University of Technology, 90-924 Łódź, Poland.

The main aim of this study is to achieve the numerical solution for the Navier-Stokes equations for incompressible, non-turbulent, and subsonic fluid flows with some Gaussian physical uncertainties. The higher-order stochastic finite volume method (SFVM), implemented according to the iterative generalized stochastic perturbation technique and the Monte Carlo scheme, are engaged for this purpose. It is implemented with the aid of the polynomial bases for the pressure-velocity-temperature (PVT) solutions, for which the weighted least squares method (WLSM) algorithm is applicable.

RL-QPSO net: deep reinforcement learning-enhanced QPSO for efficient mobile robot path planning.

Front Neurorobot

January 2025

Hebi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Henan Polytechnic University, Hebi, Henan, China.

Introduction: Path planning in complex and dynamic environments poses a significant challenge in the field of mobile robotics. Traditional path planning methods such as genetic algorithms, Dijkstra's algorithm, and Floyd's algorithm typically rely on deterministic search strategies, which can lead to local optima and lack global search capabilities in dynamic settings. These methods have high computational costs and are not efficient for real-time applications.
