Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is a prevalent clinical condition characterized by an inappropriate secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH). It is most often caused by one or more parathyroid adenomas, which can, in rare cases, be ectopically located. Ectopic adenomas can pose a diagnostic challenge, lead to treatment delay, and be a common cause of recurrent hypercalcemia after parathyroidectomy.

Objective: To review a rare case of a lateral neck mass pathologically confirmed as an encapsulated papillary thyroid carcinoma in our center for complementing the lack of management of rare cases, and to explore the differentiation of primary ectopic thyroid carcinoma and metastatic disease in the context of the presence of malignant tumors within the situ thyroid gland.
Methods: We searched for studies on lateral neck ectopic thyroid cancer to compare and analyze it with metastatic carcinoma of the thyroid gland in terms of clinical features, imaging manifestations, pathological features at molecular level, and treatment principles.
Results: Based on available data, we concluded that the mass of this patient was consistent with metastatic lateral neck ectopic thyroid carcinoma.

Cushing syndrome due to ectopic adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) secretion (EAS) is rare and may progress rapidly, making treatment very challenging. We report a 27-year-old woman with metastatic neuroendocrine tumor (NET) who presented with sudden onset and rapidly progressing fatigue, muscle weakness, and weight gain. Laboratory findings confirmed severe EAS with new onset hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, and hyperglycemia.

Heterotopic pregnancy is defined as the simultaneous presence of an intrauterine and an extrauterine pregnancy and is considered a rare condition. As a part of this entity, heterotopic triplet pregnancy, defined as the presence of three embryos, with at least one being ectopic, is exceedingly rare. In recent years, the broad use of assisted reproductive techniques to help infertile couples has contributed to the constant rise of non-spontaneous heterotopic triplets.
