Purpose: Biodiesel is a non-toxic, renewable, and environmentally friendly fuel used in compression ignition engines. This work aimed to develop FeO/SiO as a cheap, magnetic, and easy separable catalyst for biodiesel production from waste oil by sono-catalytic transesterification.
Methods: Fe₃O₄-SiO₂ was prepared using a modified Stober method and used as a heterogeneous catalyst in an ultrasound-assisted transesterification reaction to produce biodiesel.

Ion transport through atomically thin nano/subnanopores, such as those in monolayer graphene, presents challenges to traditional ion conduction models, primarily due to extreme confinement effects and hydration interactions. Under these conditions, existing models fail to account for conductance behaviors at the nano- and subnanometer scales. In this study, we perform a combined experimental and theoretical investigation of ion transport in monolayer graphene nano/subnanopores across varying salt concentrations.

Recent experiments have shown that exciton transport can be significantly enhanced through hybridization with confined photonic modes in a cavity. The light-matter hybridization generates exciton-polariton (EP) bands, whose group velocity is significantly larger than the excitons. Dissipative mechanisms that affect the constituent states of EPs, such as exciton-phonon coupling and cavity loss, have been observed to reduce the group velocities in experiments.

Recent advancements show the potential of cascaded metalenses in near-eye display applications, achieving performance that rivals traditional eyepiece systems. By leveraging the human pupil as an aperture and taking into account practical factors such as eye relief, pupil size, and display dimensions, this approach suggests a bright future for the incorporation of meta-optics in cutting-edge near-eye display technologies.
