The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of repeated oral exposure to LPS on humoral immune responses of periparturient dairy cows. Sixteen Holstein cows were assigned to two treatment groups 2 wk before the expected day of parturition. Cows were administered orally, twice weekly at wk -2, -1 and +1 around parturition, with the following treatments: 3 ml saline; or 3 ml of saline containing LPS from Escherichia coli 0111:B4. The amount of LPS administered during wk -2, -1, and +1 was 0.01, 0.05, or 0.1 µg/kg body weight, respectively. Multiple blood samples were collected by jugular vein and various immune and clinical variables were measured. Results indicated that, on one hand, concentrations of plasma IgG anti-LPS Abs decreased (P < 0.01) and those of IgM anti-LPS Abs increased (P < 0.01) in cows treated with oral LPS. On the other hand, there were no overall differences (P > 0.05) in the concentrations of serum amyloid A, LPS-binding protein, haptoglobin, cortisol, IgA anti-LPS Abs in the plasma, feed intake, body temperature and rumen contractions rate between the control and treatment groups. To our knowledge, this study is the first to show that repeated oral administration with LPS from E. coli 0111:B4 has the potential to stimulate humoral immune responses in periparturient dairy cows.

This study examined the effects of treadmill running (TR) regimens on craniofacial pain- and anxiety-like behaviors, as well as their effects on neural changes in specific brain regions of male mice subjected to repeated social defeat stress (SDS) for 10 days. Behavioral and immunohistochemical experiments were conducted to evaluate the impact of TR regimens on SDS-related those behaviors, as well as epigenetic and neural activity markers in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), insular cortex (IC), rostral ventromedial medulla (RVM), and cervical spinal dorsal horn (C2). Behavioral responses were quantified using multiple tests, while immunohistochemistry measured histone H3 acetylation, histone deacetylases (HDAC1, HDAC2), and neural activity markers (FosB and phosphorylated cAMP response element-binding protein (pCREB).

Aim: Autotransplantation of teeth (ATT) is a viable biological method for addressing dental defects. The objective was to achieve occlusal reconstruction-orientated ATT to enhance functionality and obtain optimal location and adjacency. This study proposes a new concept of a guide (a fully guided system) to achieve position-predictable ATT.

Introduction: Video modeling is one of the most recommended techniques for modifying children's behavior during dental procedures.
Aim: To comparatively evaluate the three different modeling videos on dental anxiety of 3-6-year-old children requiring treatment under local anesthesia (LA).
Settings And Design: A parallel, randomized controlled trial was conducted in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry after obtaining clearance from the ethical committee.

Autoimmune autonomic ganglionopathy (AAG) is a rare and acquired immune-mediated disease that leads to wide autonomic failure, mainly characterized by orthostatic hypotension, gastrointestinal dysfunction, anhidrosis and poorly reactive pupils. This disorder is usually associated with autoantibodies to the ganglionic nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (gAChR-Ab). In this study, we describe a case of a gAChR-Ab-positive AAG patient with two therapeutic stages.

Objective: To investigate the color stability of a one-shade resin-based composite material (RC) and a glass-ionomer cement (GIC) after staining with plaque detectors (PDs) with different formulations and delivery forms.
Materials And Methods: Rectangular-shaped specimens (7 × 3 × 2 mm) were produced with RC (Venus Diamond One, Kulzer) and GIC (Fujy IX GP, GC) (n = 30). Further, the following PDs were used on the specimens: (1) tablets (T; Plaq-Search, TePe); (2) mouthwash (M; Plaque Agent, Miradent); and (3) light-curing liquid (L; Plaque test, Ivoclar).
