A lobectomy with systemic lymphadenectomy is a standard surgical procedure for a resectable lung cancer. However there is not a consensus on the limited surgery. A 60-year-old man underwent left upper lobe partial resection for small size lung adenocarcinoma under video assisted thoracic surgery (VATS). Fifty-six months after the operation, a computed tomography (CT) scan showed a local recurrence on the staple-line. A positron emission tomography (PET) scan showed an additional port site recurrence, which wasn't showed by a CT scan. He underwent left upper lobectomy and port site resection.

The clinical outcomes of laparoscopic-assisted ovariohysterectomy for the treatment of hydrometra or pyometra in small-sized dogs have not been reported. This study aimed to retrospectively investigate the clinical outcomes of two-port laparoscopic-assisted ovariohysterectomy in small-sized dogs weighing < 6 kg with mild to moderate hydrometra or pyometra. Laparoscopic ports were placed at the umbilicus on the midline, as well as at the midpoint between the umbilicus and pelvic brim.

This is a particularly important immune checkpoint in the case of emerging infections against which most of the population does not have preexisting antibody immunity. In this study, we sought to test whether antibody-based delivery of Ebola virus (EBOV) antigens to dendritic cells could be used as a vaccination strategy against Ebola virus disease.

Background Aims: Bulevirtide (BLV) is a novel and the only approved treatment option for patients with chronic hepatitis D (CHD). BLV alleviates liver inflammation already early during treatment when only minor HDV RNA changes are observed. We hypothesized that BLV-treatment may influence immune cells in CHD patients and performed a high-resolution analysis of natural killer (NK) cells before and during BLV-therapy.

The Ichkeul-Bizerte Lagoon Complex (IBLC), a critical ecosystem for local biodiversity, faces a pressing threat due to climate change and severe pollution. Despite past conservation efforts, pollution persists, particularly in the Bizerte Lagoon. This study investigated the impact of water dynamics and climatic conditions on heavy metal contamination in the IBLC's sediments.
