Bacteraemia caused by Streptococcus bovis is often associated with colorectal tumours. Also, experimental studies have been proposed that S bovis acts as a promoter of tumours. We report the case of a man with colon adenoma who had a high proportion of S bovis in his faecal flora. He was treated with a Lactobacillus casei preparation (BLP) and the effect on the faecal flora was examined. L casei reduced the proportion of S bovis (from 43% down to 9%), and the effect continued after the administration of BLP was stopped. Our data indicate that BLP can repress the excessive colonisation of S bovis.

The aim of this study was to investigate the biomarkers of salivary and fecal microbiota in Colorectal cancer (CRC). Initially, the study scrutinized the microbial community composition disparities among groups. Utilizing Lasso analysis, it sifted through operational taxonomic units (OTUs) to pinpoint distinctive features.

Hypobaric hypoxia exposure occurs at high altitudes, including plateaus, and affects normal intestinal function and microbiota composition. Exposure induces an intestinal inflammatory response and oxidative stress injury, ultimately disrupting intestinal homeostasis and causing barrier damage. Thus, due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, and intestinal microbiota-regulating properties, is a potentially effective probiotic intervention to protect the intestinal barrier during low-pressure hypoxia on plateaus.

Introduction: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is an allergic disease caused by various factors that can affect an individual's appearance and cause psychological stress. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the underlying mechanisms and develop effective treatment strategies. The gut microbiota and bacterial metabolism play crucial roles in human diseases.

Background: The use of enzymes within pig feed can reduce the challenges associated with antibiotic-free animal feeding. However, this enzymatic effect is often limited by the internal and external gut environment. This study aimed to improve diet quality and assess the impact of an enzymatically hydrolyzed diet (EHD) on growth performance, meat quality, and intestinal health in growing pigs.

Daidzin, as one of isoflavone glycosides, has been reported to have multiple activities with few absorbed into body. However, the metabolic behavior of daidzin by intestinal flora has not been researched, that this defect severely constrains its applications. In this study, daidzin and its metabolites were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed by HPLC and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS) in the fermentation system for daidzin and fecal bacteria.
