Research on Bio-based natural fiber material promoted the development of reinforcement and expand their possible structural applications. In this study, fibers are extracted from the stem of Calamus rotang (common rattan-Indian Species). Further, the fiber is processed to get novel hybrid combinations with glass fibers by manual hand lay-up technique.

To achieve the resource utilization of edible fungi residue and obtain efficient adsorbents for treating dyeing wastewater, biochars were prepared from mushroom residue (MR) with the introduction of alkaline-earth metals (AEMs) and used for methyl orange (MO) wastewater treatment. The thermal behavior of the AEM-treated MR was analyzed using thermogravimetric analysis. The physicochemical properties of the biochars obtained from AEM-treated MR (MRCs) were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, laser particle size analyzer, N adsorption/desorption, and scanning electron microscopy.

State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication, Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou 730000, People's Republic of China.

Here, a magnetic responsive composite surface (MRCS) was prepared by injecting a magnetic elastomer into ZnO nanoarrays for intelligent control of droplet/bubble transport. This non-pollution, non-contact operation method has shown great potential in micro-fluids, micro-chemical reactors, chip laboratory environments and other related applications.
