Unlabelled: Peri-radicular surgery is a valuable treatment modality allowing thorough treatment of chronic infection of the peri-radicular tissues. It is important that this treatment option is prescribed appropriately and steps are taken to help improve outcomes of surgery. We discuss the indications for peri-radicular surgery, considerations when planning treatment for teeth where orthograde endodontics has failed and present the findings of an audit into the appropriateness of referrals for peri-radicular surgery to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at a District General Hospital.

Clinical Relevance: This article highlights the indications and contra-indications for peri-radicular surgery to general dental practitioners.

This study evaluated the biocompatibility of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and Biodentine (BD) as root-end filling materials. Six mongrel dogs were divided into two equal groups according to the evaluation period; group A: one month and group B: three months. Three premolars of the same quadrant in each arch were used, summing up 36 teeth (6 teeth/dog).

Introduction: The purpose of this case report is to present endodontic and periodontal management of mucosal fenestrations with exposed root apices. The treatment protocol in present cases includes a combination of regenerative therapy using platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) with connective tissue graft (CTG) and endodontic microsurgery. Pre-existing condition of these teeth exhibits apical lesion with prominent root position and complete buccal bone dehiscence/fenestration presents a true challenge to successful outcome.
