Aim: The study was designed to evaluate molecular alterations, relevant to the prognosis and personalized therapy of salivary gland cancers (SGCs).

Materials And Methods: DNA was extracted from archival tissue of 40 patients with various SGCs subtypes. A targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) panel was used for the identification of small-scale mutations, focal and chromosomal arm-level copy number changes.

Stroke remains a leading cause of global disability and mortality despite advancements in acute interventions. Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), a non-invasive neuromodulation technique, has primarily been studied for its effects on cortical excitability, with limited exploration of its neuroprotective and hemodynamic benefits. This review examines the role of tDCS in stroke, with a focus on neuroprotection in acute settings and cerebral blood flow (CBF) modulation in both acute and chronic phases.

Artificial intelligence and stroke imaging.

Curr Opin Neurol

February 2025

High Dimensional Neurology Group, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, University College London, Russell Square House, Bloomsbury, London, UK.

Article Synopsis
  • The review highlights the complexity of stroke, driven by disruptions in blood supply and complicated by the neural and vascular systems' interactions.
  • Advances in machine vision and deep learning are improving predictive tools for stroke, but their clinical impact is limited by real-world data challenges.
  • Although AI's potential benefits for stroke care are clear, the best approaches for practical application are still being explored, with deep generative models seen as a promising avenue for innovation.

The scope of the emerging field of Ayurvedic-biology visualized thus far is confined to studies on dimensions pertaining to clinical and experimental pharmacology, basic trans-disciplinary science and drug design. However, given the multiple facets of classical Ayurveda knowledge system, its application in the field of organic agriculture perhaps also needs to be urgently explored. The urgency is due to the growing public acceptance of Ayurveda as a preferred clinical choice for well-being and disease management.

Background: Alveolar osteitis is a type of small-scale osteomyelitis of the alveolar bone that occurs after tooth extraction, the etiology of which remains unknown, and alternative methods are being investigated for its treatment. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of advanced platelet-rich fibrin (A-PRF), photobiomodulation (PBM), and Alveogyl (butamben, idoform, eugenol), which have shown success in the treatment of alveolar osteitis, with that of pentoxifylline (PTX) to determine whether PTX could be an alternative treatment for alveolar osteitis.

Methods: This study included 80 healthy volunteers diagnosed with alveolar osteitis in the extraction sockets of their mandibular first, second, and third molars.
