The influence of the selective anxiolytic drug afobazole in a single dose of 10 mg on the psychophysiological functions of healthy volunteers was studied in laboratory experiments. It is established that afobazole optimizes some psychophysiological characteristics of stress-labile individuals and has no negative influenceon the parameters of attention, psychomotor reaction a nd speed of decision making.

Aims: Sigma-1 receptor (S1R) activation was recently identified as a promising target for preventing diabetic nephropathy (DN) by mitigating hypoxia, oxidative stress, and inflammation. This study aimed to investigate the potential reno-protective effect of the S1R agonist afobazole against streptozotocin (STZ)-induced DN in rats compared to metformin.
Materials And Methods: Rats were split into six groups: the normal control group; the diabetic control group received STZ (55 mg/kg i.

Mice of two strains selected for successful solution of "object permanence" test and for lack of such solution demonstrated the differential reaction to injections of two drugs. The effects of injections of atomoxetine. which blocks the noradrenaline reuptake, and of 'non-benzodiazepine" anxiolytic afobazol was different.

A course of therapy with fabomotizole leads to a decrease in the heterogeneity of atrial depolarization at the initial stages of the formation of the cardioelectric field of the atria on the body surface before the onset of the P-wave, thereby producing an antiarrhythmic effect.

A single dose of isatin (100 mg/kg subcutaneously on the last day of a 7-day course of rotenone administration) improved the motor activity of rats with rotenone-induced Parkinsonism in the open field test (horizontal movements) and the rotating rod test. Afobazole (10 mg/kg intraperitoneally, daily during the 7-day course of rotenone administration) reduced the manifestations of rigidity and postural instability.

We studied the effects of oral administration of Afobazole in a dose of 10 mg/kg for 5 days on depressive-like behavior of male C57BL/6 mice in the tail suspension test in comparison with amitriptyline (10 mg/kg) or fluoxetine (20 mg/kg) treatment. Afobazole produced an antidepressant effect similar to amitriptyline, but inferior to fluoxetine. The σ1 receptor antagonist BD-1047 in a dose of 5 mg/kg blocked the antidepressant effect of Afobazole, which indicates the involvement of σ1 receptors in the antidepressant effect of the drug.
