A series of isostructural microporous lanthanide metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) formulated as [Ln(2)(TPO)(2)(HCOO)]·(Me(2)NH(2))·(DMF)(4)·(H(2)O)(6) {Ln = Y (1), Sm (2), Eu (3), Gd (4), Tb (5), Dy (6), Ho (7), Er (8), Tm (9), Yb (10), and Lu (11); H(3)TPO = tris-(4-carboxylphenyl)phosphineoxide; DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide} has been synthesized under microwave-assisted solvothermal reaction for 30 min. Alternatively, if a conventional solvothermal reaction is carried out under the same temperature, a much longer time (3 days) is needed for the same phase in similar yield. Structure analysis reveals that the framework is a 4,8-connected network with point symbol (4(10)·6(16)·8(2)) (4(5)·6)(2), which is the subnet of alb net. Thermal gravimetric analyses performed on as-synthesized MOFs reveal that the frameworks have high thermal stability. The luminescent properties of 2, 3, 5, and 6 were investigated and show characteristic emissions for Sm(III), Eu(III), Tb(III), and Dy(III) at room temperature, respectively. Gas sorption properties of 1 and 3 were studied by experimentally measuring nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrogen sorption isotherms. The resulting materials show high and preferential CO(2) adsorption over N(2) gas at ambient temperature, indicating that the present materials can be applied in a CO(2) capture process.

Noncovalent interactions (NCI) play a central role in numerous physical, chemical, and biological phenomena. An accurate description of NCI is the key to success for any theoretical study in such areas. Although quantum mechanics (QM) methods such as dispersion-corrected density functional theory are sufficiently accurate, their applications are practical only for <300 atoms and <100 ps of simulation time.

An efficient dual-state blue-emitting zinc-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), designated as UoZ-8 has been developed. Coordination-induced emission causes the UoZ-8 to give the blue emission in both solid and dispersed form in liquid. Upon the addition of tetracycline (TC), a noticeable shift from blue emission to greenish-yellow emission occurred, with a marked increase in intensity, which was attributed to the inner filter effect accompanied by aggregation-induced emission (IFE-AIE).

Trivalent lanthanide ions have emerged as promising candidates for precise and remote temperature sensing. Among them, Pr-based luminescent thermometers remain underexplored, particularly those operating in the near-infrared (NIR) spectral region. This work presents the synthesis and thorough characterization of a novel Pr-based coordination polymer, {[PrPt(CN)(4,4'-bpyO)(HO)]·4HO} (), as a rare example of Pr luminescent thermometry.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with adjustable structures, diverse chemical functionalities, and excellent CO capture ability have shown important potential application in the photocatalytic reduction of CO to valuable fuel to curb the energy crisis. In this work, a series of new isostructural lanthanide-organic frameworks based on hexanuclear {LnO} clusters, {(DMA) [Ln(μ-OH)(HO)(SBTC)]} (Ln-MOFs, Ln = Eu, Dy, Gd, Tb, Yb; HSBTC = 5,5'-(ethene-1,2-diyl) di-isophthalic acid; DMA = dimethylamine cation) were synthesized by the solvothermal method. Ln-MOFs were metal-organic frameworks formed by {Ln(μ-OH)} clusters and poly(carboxylic acid) ligands HSBTC, which exhibited excellent photocatalytic properties for the reduction of CO to CO.

In this study, we used meso-tetra (4-carboxyphenyl) porphyrin (TCPP) as an organic ligand to modify a lanthanide-based metal-organic framework as an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) platform to sensitively detect anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH). La-MOF amplified the ECL signal by suppressing the aggregation-caused quenching created by TCPP self-aggregation. Utilizing the reversible cycling of the mixed-valence transition metal ion (Cu/Cu and Mo/Mo) and the electrical conductivity of CuMoS and silver nanoparticle (AgNP), CuMoS-AgNP as a dual co-reaction promoter constantly generated sulfate radical anions (SO) and thus amplified the ECL signal.
