A major function of the human brain is to mediate interactions with other people. Until recently, studying social interactions as they occur within the brain was not possible due to the lack of measurable methods to observe two interacting minds simultaneously. We have developed a novel MRI dual-head volume coil pair that can scan two subjects' brains simultaneously while the subjects are socially interacting in one MRI scanner. The feasibility of using this coil for dyadic functional MRI (fMRI) study has been successfully demonstrated for the first time. Meanwhile, an innovative robust scheme for decoupling two circular-polarized coils (not surface coils) is introduced in theory and validated in practice in the coil technology development.

The Small Volume Ethyl Acetate based Liquid-Liquid Extraction (SVEA-LLE) method, using Atmospheric Pressure Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (APGC-MS/MS) with Dual Head Robotic Tool Change (DH-RTC) Prep and Load (PAL) autosampler, was evaluated for the analysis of 17 PAHs in water and wastewater. The extraction method was first evaluated for extraction efficiency with respect to time using a one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the effect of acidification. Method validation was performed as per SANTE/11312/2021 v2 2024 for analysis of PAHs in wastewater.

P-cadherin is associated with a wide range of tumor types, making it an attractive therapeutic target. FF-21101 is a human-mouse chimeric monoclonal antibody (mAb) directed against human P-cadherin, which has been radioconjugated with indium-111 (In) utilizing a DOTA chelator. We investigated the biodistribution of FF-21101(In) in cynomolgus macaques and extrapolated the results to estimate internal radiation doses of In- and yttrium-90 (Y)-FF-21101 for targeted radioimmunotherapy in humans.

Implantation of a dual-head hip prosthesis to treat medial femoral neck fractures is often associated with significant blood loss. In elective endoprosthetics procedures, it has already been demonstrated that administration of tranexamic acid (TXA) reduces blood loss and need for postoperative transfusions, as well as reducing the frequency of postoperative complications. The aim of this study is to show whether the administration of TXA also leads to a reduction in perioperative blood loss and haemorrhage-associated complications when applied as part of treatment of femoral neck fractures using a dual-head prosthesis.

The quality control parameters of in-house-produced Y-Acetate from high-level liquid waste (HLLW) using supported liquid membrane (SLM) technology were validated and compared with the pharmacopeia standard. The radiolabeling of DOTATATE yielding Y-DOTATATE in acceptable radiochemical purity (RCP), with expected pharmacological behavior in models, establish the quality of Y-Acetate. Clinical translation of Y-Acetate in formulation of Y-DOTATATE adds support toward its use as clinical-grade radiochemical.
