Article Synopsis
  • - The compound discussed is called pyridinium 4-methyl-benzene-sulfonate, which is a salt derived from p-toluene-sulfonic acid.
  • - In its crystal structure, it features classical hydrogen bonds (N-H⋯O) and C-H⋯O interactions linking the positive (cationic) and negative (anionic) parts of the molecule.
  • - These interactions create sheets of the compound that are arranged parallel to a specific plane within the crystal.

Among the toxic heavy metals, Ni(II) can cause a variety of side effects on human health, such as allergy, cardiovascular and kidney diseases, lung fibrosis, lung, and nasal cancer. It is therefore critical from a public health and environmental perspective to determine and monitor Ni(II) ions in drinking water, foods, and environmental samples. In this study, a novel selective chemosensor (4-[{[4-(3-Chlorophenyl)-1,3-Thiazol-2-yl]Hydrazono}Methyl]phenyl4-methylBenzene Sulfonate (CTHMBS) was developed for the colorimetric detection of Ni(II) in aqueous medium.

This study performed the simultaneous quantification of assay and two alkyl sulfonate (tosylate) analogs of empagliflozin (EGZ), specifically methyl 4-methyl benzene sulfonate (MMBS) and ethyl 4-methyl benzene sulfonate (EMBS) in EGZ, and its finished dosage form using an accurate and sensitive ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method. The separation was achieved on a Waters Acquity BEH Shield RP18 (100 × 2.1 mm, 1.

The structure of the title salt (systematic name: oxodiphenyl-λ-iodanylium 4-methyl-benzene-sulfonate dihydrate), CHIO·CHOS·2HO, at 150 K, has monoclinic (2/) symmetry. The mol-ecular structure features an angular (phenyl-iodos-yl)benzene cation, the geometry of which was hitherto undescribed in the literature: in the cation, both I-C bonds are approximately normal to the I=O bond, forming a C-I-C angle of 95.36 (4)°.
