In the dianion of the title salt, (C(14)H(12)N(2))[CuI(3)], the Cu(I) atom is coordinated by three I(-) ions that define a nearly trigonal-planar geometry; the Cu(I) atom lies 0.1407 (6) Å out of the plane. With the exception of the methyl-ene C atoms, the dication is essentially planar (r.m.s deviation = 0.067 Å). The most significant inter-action between the ions is a C-H⋯I contact.

N-acyl/sulfonyl-α-phosphonated 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroiso-quinolines (THIQs) are highly important structural motifs in organic synthesis and drug discovery. However, the one-pot approach enabling direct difunctionalization of THIQs remains challenging. Herein we report a photomediated one-pot multicomponent cascade reaction to access N-acyl/sulfonyl-α-phosphonated THIQs via twice acyl/sulfonyl iminium.

Conjugated polymers have attracted extensive attention as semiconducting materials in wearable and flexible electronics. In this study, we utilize atom-economical Knoevenagel reaction to construct two conjugated polymers, PTDPP-CNTT and PFDPP-CNTT, based on dialdehyde-thiophene/furan-flanked diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) and 2,2'-(thieno[3,2-b]thiophene-2,5-diyl)diacetonitrile (CNTT). The resulting polymers exhibited suitable highest occupied molecular orbital/lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (HOMO/LUMO) energy levels, small bandgaps, and broad UV-vis-NIR absorptions (≈400-1000 nm), endowing them with photothermal and balanced ambipolar semiconducting properties with hole and electron mobilities over 10 cmVs.

Electromagnetic (EM) metamaterials represent a cutting-edge field that achieves anomalously macroscopic properties through artificial design and arrangement of microstructure arrays to freely manipulate EM fields and waves in desired ways. The unit cell of a microstructure array is also called a meta-atom, which can construct effective medium parameters that do not exist in traditional materials or are difficult to realize with traditional technologies. By deep integration with digital information, the meta-atom is evolved to a digital meta-atom, leading to the emergence of information metamaterials.

The semi-hydrogenation of alkynes into alkenes rather than alkanes is of great importance in the chemical industry, and palladium-based metallic catalysts are currently employed. Unfortunately, a fairly high cost and uncontrollable over-hydrogenation impeded the application of Pd-based catalysts on a large scale. Herein, a sandwich structure single atom Pd catalyst, Z@Pd@Z, was prepared impregnation exchange and epitaxial growth methods (Z stands for ZIF-8), in which Pd single atoms were stabilized by pyrrolic N in a zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-8).

Binuclear silver(I) and copper(I) complexes, and , with bridging diphenylphosphine ligands were prepared. In , the silver(I) center is located inside a trigonal plane composed of three phosphorus donors from three separate and bridging dppm ligands. The fourth coordination site is filled with neighboring silver(I) ions.
