Aim: To assess whether circulating soluble CD95 ligand (sCD95L) levels are associated with recurrence-free survival (RFS) in patients with synchronous colorectal liver metastases.
Patients And Methods: Blood samples were obtained from 62 patients with synchronous colorectal liver metastases before and after liver surgery. Serum sCD95L levels were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cox regression analysis was performed to determine the correlation between sCD95L levels and RFS and overall survival (OS).
Results: Median follow-up was 33 months. High pre-operative sCD95L levels were associated with poor RFS and OS in univariable (p=0.019 and p=0.020) and multivariable analyses (p=0.020 and p=0.003).
Conclusion: Preoperatives CD95L is a potential prognostic factor for RFS and OS of patients undergoing surgery for synchronous colorectal liver metastases. Low preoperatives CD95L levels may help identify a subgroup of patients with synchronous liver metastases that are likely to benefit from liver surgery.

Objective: The objective of this research was to devise and authenticate a predictive model that employs CT radiomics and deep learning methodologies for the accurate prediction of synchronous distant metastasis (SDM) in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).
Methods: A total of 143 ccRCC patients were included in the training cohort, and 62 ccRCC patients were included in the validation cohort. The CT images from all patients were normalized, and the tumor regions were manually segmented via ITK-SNAP software.

Objective and continuous monitoring of Parkinson's disease (PD) tremor in free-living conditions could benefit both individual patient care and clinical trials, by overcoming the snapshot nature of clinical assessments. To enable robust detection of tremor in the context of limited amounts of labeled training data, we propose to use prototypical networks, which can embed domain expertise about the heterogeneous tremor and non-tremor sub-classes. We evaluated our approach using data from the Parkinson@Home Validation study, including 8 PD patients with tremor, 16 PD patients without tremor, and 24 age-matched controls.

Thirteen retrospective studies, comprising 2623 patients, were analysed, revealing an overall pooled SCTC prevalence of 4%, rising to 10% in HNSCCUP cases. HPV/p16 positivity was associated with SCTC prevalence of 3%, while HPV/p16 negativity was greater at 8%.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) for fertility-sparing treatment in Lynch syndrome-associated endometrial cancer (LS-EC).
Methods: Four LS-EC cases received programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors for fertility preservation at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University from 2017 to 2023. The clinical data and long-term outcomes were retrospectively reviewed.

Background: Learning health systems (LHS) have the potential to use health data in real time through rapid and continuous cycles of data interrogation, implementing insights to practice, feedback, and practice change. However, there is a lack of an appropriately skilled interprofessional informatics workforce that can leverage knowledge to design innovative solutions. Therefore, there is a need to develop tailored professional development training in digital health, to foster skilled interprofessional learning communities in the health care workforce in Australia.
