Enabling a robot to learn skills from a human and adapt to different task scenarios will enable the use of robots in manufacturing to improve efficiency. Movement Primitives (MPs) are prominent tools for encoding skills. This paper investigates how to learn MPs from a small number of human demonstrations and adapt to different task constraints, including waypoints, joint limits, virtual walls, and obstacles.

Characterisation and hierarchy of the spermatogonial stem cell compartment in human spermatogenesis by spectral cytometry using a 16-colors panel.

Cell Mol Life Sci

December 2024

About one in six couples experience fertility problems, and male infertility accounts for about half of these cases. Spermatogenesis originates from a small pool of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs), which are of interest for the treatment of infertility but remain poorly characterised in humans. Using multiparametric spectral flow cytometric analysis with a 16-colours (16-C) panel of cell markers, we identify novel markers of SSCs and provide insights into unravelling and resolving the heterogeneity of the human spermatogonial cells.

Epigenetic Therapies.

Cold Spring Harb Perspect Med

December 2024

Division of Hematology/Oncology, Boston Children's Hospital, Department of Pediatric Oncology, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts 02215, USA

Epigenetic therapies are emerging for pediatric cancers. Due to the relatively low mutational burden in pediatric tumors, epigenetic dysregulation and differentiation blockade is a hallmark of oncogenesis in some childhood cancers. By targeting epigenetic regulators that maintain tumor cells in a primitive developmental state, epigenetic therapies may induce differentiation.

Background: Erythroid cells contribute to embryonic organ development and adult tissue repair supplying oxygen to tissues. During mouse development, the primitive erythroid cells produced in the extraembryonic blood islands of the yolk sac begin to circulate as immature and nucleated erythroblasts with the onset of cardiac contractions around embryonic day 9.5 (E9.

Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumors of the Gastrointestinal Tract.

Cancers (Basel)

December 2024

The Arkadi M. Rywlin M.D. Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, FL 33140, USA.

Desmoplastic small round cell tumors (DSRCTs) of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract are a rare and highly aggressive variant of soft tissue sarcomas, predominantly affecting the abdominal region. These tumors are believed to originate from multipotent mesenchymal stem cells or primitive progenitor cells. They are composed of small round tumor cells associated with prominent stromal desmoplasia, polyphenotypic differentiation, and gene fusion.
