We propose a parameter design of the parallax barrier (PB) based on the color moiré patterns in autostereoscopic displays. First, the display device and the PB are approximated as two corresponding binary gratings. In order to obtain different corresponding predominant Fourier low-frequency terms, the superposition of the equivalent grating for the display device and the special radial grating is analyzed, referring to the indicial equation method and Fourier theory. Moreover, the two transition regions are considered as the regions where moiré patterns vary gently. Finally, the appropriate parameter of the PB can be obtained. The validity of the proposed design is verified in the experiment.

Should medical schools psychologically screen medical school applicants and students? Arguably, psychological screening could be used to identify at-risk candidates who have psychological conditions that make them more likely to act unprofessionally. In this column we analyse the arguments for and against such screening. We argue that psychological testing should be used by medical schools as part of a program to support students so that they are at less risk of engaging in poor professional behaviour.

Nitrogen Assimilation Plays a Role in Balancing the Chloroplastic Glutathione Redox Potential Under High Light Conditions.

Nitrate reduction requires reducing equivalents produced by the photosynthetic electron transport chain. Therefore, it has been suggested that nitrate assimilation provides a sink for electrons under high light conditions. We tested this hypothesis by monitoring photosynthetic efficiency and the chloroplastic glutathione redox potential (chl-E) of plant lines with mutated glutamine synthetase 2 (GS2) and ferredoxin-dependent glutamate synthase 1 (GOGAT1).

Background: Cervical cancer (CC) is a prevalent gynecological malignancy, contributing to a substantial number of fatalities among women. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as promising biomarkers with significant potential for the early detection and prognosis of CC.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the clinical significance and biological role of miR-615-5p in CC, with the goal of identifying novel biomarkers for this disease.

Psychosocial risks and mental health of preschool care providers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: a cross-sectional study.

BMC Psychol

January 2025

Health Department of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, Health office of Lembah Pantai District, Ministry of Health, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Background: Child maltreatment in daycare is a public health issue. As childcare is stressful, high care provider negativity independently predicts more internalizing behaviour problems, affecting children's psycho-neurological development. This study aimed to determine psychosocial factors associated with the mental health of preschool care providers in Kuala Lumpur.
