Morganella morganii, a Gram-negative rod commonly found in the intestines of humans and other animals, is here confirmed to cause a fatal infection in chickens by isolation and identification of the bacteria, 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and experimental infection. This is the first case of M. morganii infection in chickens.

A multifactorial association study detected a probable causal connection between the prevalence of in the gut microbiome and the incidence of major depressive disorder (MDD) in the human host. A bioassay-guided fractionation approach identified bacterially produced metabolites that induced pro-inflammatory immune responses. The metabolites are unusual phospholipids that resemble conventional cardiolipins, in which diethanolamine (DEA) replaces the central glycerol.

To effectively address the contamination caused by antibiotic misuse, this study was conducted to enhance the removal of amoxicillin (AMX) and penicillin sodium (PEN) by incorporating black soldier fly larvae (BSFL). The results showed that BSFL increased the degradation rates of AMX and PEN to 71.00 % and 80.

A new variant of carbapenem-resistant has only limited reports from Africa including Ethiopia. This study aimed to determine Metallo -ß- lactamase resistance Gram-negative bacteria in Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital January-June 2023.

The highest hemolytic activity of M. morganii cultivated in urine with low urea concentration (23 and 82 mmol/liter) was observed between 3rd and 4th hours of post-inoculation, while in urine with standard urea level (117 mmol/liter), the activity was observed at 5th hour of post-inoculation.
