Ultrasound is a first-line and often preferred imaging modality in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis. When the appendix is not visualised during a dedicated appendix ultrasound study, patients may require a CT study, which uses ionising radiation, or undergo conservative clinical observation with the inherent risk of clinical deterioration, perforation and sepsis. Background: An acquired diaphragmatic hernia (ADH) is an uncommon event following pediatric liver transplantation. Pediatric liver transplantation proves effective in prolonging survival and improving quality of life for children with methylmalonic acidemia. Remarkably, there have been no previous reports documenting the occurrence of post-liver transplant ADH in patients diagnosed with methylmalonic acidemia.

Chondrolaryngoplasty is traditionally performed using an open transcervical approach, which, while effective, leaves visible scars that can compromise patient satisfaction.
