CD73, an ectoenzyme responsible for adenosine production, is often elevated in immuno-suppressive tumor environments. Inhibition of CD73 activity holds great promise as a therapeutic strategy for CD73-expressing cancers. In this study, we have developed a therapeutic anti-human CD73 antibody cocktail, HB0045.

By targeting the essential viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRP), nucleoside analogs (NAs) have exhibited great potential in antiviral therapy for RNA virus-related diseases. However, most ribose-modified NAs do not present broad-spectrum features, likely due to differences in ribose-RdRP interactions across virus families. Here, we show that HNC-1664, an adenosine analog with modifications both in ribose and base, has broad-spectrum antiviral activity against positive-strand coronaviruses and negative-strand arenaviruses.

Background: Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis/mycosis (ABPA/M) is a complex non-infectious pulmonary benign disease characterized by an immune response against aspergillus/fungus. Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), typically recognized as a tumor marker, also elevated in certain benign diseases. Few studies on ABPA/M cases presenting with elevated serum CEA levels have been reported.

This study compared the efficacy of Beractant (SURVANTA®) to Poractant alfa (CUROSURF®) in treating RDS in preterm infants admitted to Tawam Hospital in the UAE. Methodology This retrospective study included preterm infants from 23+0 to 36+6 weeks of gestation with a diagnosis of RDS and treatment by Beractant or Poractant alfa within 48 hours of life between January 2020 and March 2023.

A 63-year-old woman undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) presented to our hospital with abdominal pain, diarrhea, and cloudy PD effluent. An elevated white blood cell count in the PD effluent led to a diagnosis of PD-associated peritonitis. She was subsequently started on intraperitoneal cefazolin and ceftazidime, after which her condition improved rapidly.
